Mustang Muster - Sunday 20th March

On Sunday 20th March, Haynes Ford invited Kent Mustang Owner's Club for their Monthly Meet. After the success of 2015's Mustang Revealed weekend, we promised the Kent Branch of the Mustang Owner's Club that they could use our forecourt for one of their monthly meetings. This saw 22 different Mustangs on the forecourt of Haynes FordStore, ranging in years from 1969 to 2014. The performance cars brought along by the Kent Owners Club showed just how much Ford's iconic Pony car has changed throughout the decades.

With refreshments provided, the club stayed until well after lunchtime, enjoying the weather and the space for onlookers to look around their vehicles. Many took the opportunity to test drive Haynes own 2016 V8 GT demonstrator, with reviews from those used to driving the Left-Hand Drive models being very favourable. It was a pleasure to host such an event for the club and we look forward to doing it again after our Showroom Upgrade is completed.

Motors by the Moat - Saturday 7th May

We attended Motors by the Moat at Leeds Castle, where our new Focus RS demonstrator had its first outing with our Mustang. The RS and Mustang were on show side by side. This local event provided a stunning backdrop for photo opportunities for the public. Thanks to both Spencer Hart and Andy Hinkley for their time in attending this event.

American SpeedFest IV - Saturday 11th June & Sunday 12th June

Haynes Ford provided Brands Hatch with 2 pace cars for this weekend of American Performance Car Racing and also staged a centre-piece Mustang display by the entrance to the VIP lounge, with our 1965 Classic Mustang alongside a 2016 V8 Mustang. Two Ford Rangers for the Brands Hatch staff to use on the track were also made available, meaning a large branded presence at the event which attracted over 60,000 people over the weekend.

Our stand itself created interest with a white cabriolet Mustang and an M-Sport Connect on display, with a simulator competition to beat Louise Cook's virtual time in driving a Mustang around the Brands Hatch course. The weather tried hard to dampen the enthusiasm of the race goers, however many hardy souls ventured onto the stand to talk about the new Mustang and Connect - with Ken Block's endorsement of the M-Sport having been announced that week. Our stand also drew attention from "the Dark Side" - with Storm Troopers posing next to the white cars before "the Stig" also made an appearance on the stand.

Harley Davidson Independence Day BBQ - Saturday 2nd July

After last year's successful event, Haynes Ford were again invited by Harley Davidson to take part in their annual Independence Day celebration at the Harley Davidson Aylesford dealership. Last year, Haynes displayed their classic Mustang but this year were able to take the new V8 demonstrator and rival the new bikes for engine performance. The afternoon consisted of American Rock 'n' Roll, BBQ food and a collection of bikers, who did all seem to be just as interested in 4-wheeled performance as their usual 2-wheels.

Victory Demo Day - Sunday 22nd May

Haynes attended Robinson's Foundry Victory Demo Day, providing our V8 Mustang for its BBQ and test drive event in Canterbury. With Robinson's inviting guests from its East Kent database, this was an opportunity for us to strengthen our brand name in East Kent and cross market with those interested in 2-wheeled American Muscle engines. This will be an event repeated each year and yet another relationship has been formed with a local dealer.

Retro Ford Magazine Track Evening - Wednesday 15th June

Haynes Ford attended the Retro Ford Magazine Track Evening at Brands Hatch, where we provided our 2.3 Mustang EcoBoost and Focus RS as pace cars for the sighting laps. After a few laps, the cars were then based at the exit of the pit lane in pride of place, before moving into the area put aside for the Kent RS Owners monthly meet. We spent some time chatting to the club members, some of whom had enjoyed taking their own vehicles onto the track. It was a positive event, which got the Haynes brand out there for people to see.
