A sophisticated Thatcham Category 1 active anti-theft system is designed to help protect you and your Mustang, warning you if anyone tries to break into your car.
The technology is also designed to help prevent unwanted towing of the vehicle. And by arming the system in different ways, you can choose to monitor the doors, bonnet and boot.
Protection all round
A sophisticated safety system includes: a dual stage driver's airbag, optimised for chest protection; a dual stage passenger airbag and a driver's knee airbag.
Another innovation is the Active Glovebox, a Ford first. This technology enables the glovebox door to expand into an airbag, helping to protect the front seat passenger's legs. For smaller passengers, ISOFIX child seat mountings are fitted to both rear seats.
Serious stopping power
A specially created, high-performance braking system incorporates 4-piston front brake calipers and ventilated discs, the performance of which is linked to a series of sophisticated electronic safety and driver assistance technologies. The 5.0-litre V8 GT is equipped with an even higher specification: 6-piston Brembo™ front calipers that bite down on 15" vented rotors.
An early warning if a tyre is going flat
If any of your tyres starts to lose pressure during your journey, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System warns you immediately if there's a puncture by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel.
Maximum grip with minimum effort
An advanced Traction Control System eliminates excessive wheelspin and gives you the best possible grip, performance and stability, just when you need it most. It constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle's individual wheels ensuring maximum contact and grip when accelerating.
Confidence in challenging conditions
AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is designed to give you greater control of your vehicle. Sensors constantly monitor the speed of each individual wheel, as well as the vehicle's direction and steering angle. ESC precisely balances braking power between each wheel and can also reduce power from the engine. This helps counter understeer and oversteer, making your vehicle more stable and easier for you to control.
